A technique is described whereby a software program utility allows messages to be sent to any personal computer (PC) connected to a local area network (LAN). It provides a method of selecting message destinations so that a "Send Message" function may be invoked. To receive a (Image Omitted) message, the user invokes a prompt to receive the message. Up to ten messages may be displayed at both the sending and receiving ends, indicating time, source, and destination of each message. The flow diagrams, as shown in Figs. 1 to 3, illustrate the steps required to perform the message utility.
