A method is described for automatically displaying more complete calendar event information. Currently, calendars provide an event notification code on the monthly calendar display. There is room at the bottom for messages that are not currently used. This invention uses the extra message line on the 25th line of the display to display more complete information than the code. The complete information includes descriptive information to clarify the event like that contained here: MEETING - 8F - 21 - BLDG 814 Whenever the program detects an event message, the information is displayed on the monthly calendar in the form of a code and an additional descriptive message on the 25th line of the display.
