A printhead contains a number of coils each with two connector pins which must be trimmed off prior to the soldering operation. The trimming is usually done, either manually or automatically, with a tool capable of trimming only one pin at a time. The present embodiment provides a tool for trimming all printhead coil pins simultaneously. Fig. 1 shows a typical print coil 1 with two leads 2. Fig. 2 shows a typical printhead 3, with multiple coils 1 in place in preparation for soldering. The excess lengths of coil pins 2 extend through PC board 4, to which the pins are to be soldered. There are two tooling holes 5 in both the upper plate and PC board 4. (Image Omitted) The printhead is now placed in the trimming tool as shown in Fig. 3.
