Abstract

A method is described to print multiple copies using the print page capability of the IBM 3812, page printer or for any other page printer. There was no capability in DisplayWrite 3 for the user to print multiple copies using the page printer's capability of filling a page buffer and printing the entire page multiple times. A fairly large document may take 12 seconds to print per page, but the rated speed is 5 seconds per page. This 5 seconds can be achieved for all page copies up to 98 copies. The IBM 3812 page printer driver allows the user to specify number of copies. Unfortunately, this command did not work with DisplayWrite 3 because of the specific initialization requirement of DisplayWrite 3.
