The disk handling device 10 receives a disk 11 in the grooves 12 associated with the feet 16, 22 carried by the three arms 13, 14, 15. In operation the disk is clamped and released using the pivotable foot 16 of arm 15. When bell crank 18 is pivoted against the biasing force of spring 19, the push rod 20 pivots the foot 16 outward. When foot 16 is pivoted, the distance between foot 16 and the stationary feet 22 is increased permitting the foot lands 24 to clear the outer diameter of the disk 11. The disk 11 outer marginal surface is engaged by the shoulders 25 and upon release of bell crank 18, disk 11 is held captive in grooves 12. The disk can be removed from the device by again pivoting bell crank 18.
