Three to Five Volt Off Chip Driver Interface Circuit

An interface circuit is described for use between a 3.3 volt technology off chip driver (OCD) and a 5.5 volt data bus. The OCD is comprised of thin gate oxide field effect transistors (FETs) using a 3.3 volt high supply (Vdd). The interface circuit permits use of this OCD FET circuit in the environment of the 5.5 volt bus without exposing the FET devices to damage from excessive voltage stress.
