Flexure Armature Support for Wire Matrix Print Head

A friction free pivot replacement for supporting the moveable armature in a wire matrix print head is disclosed which utilizes the flexible spring permanently bonded to the end of the armature near its virtual pivoting point where the armature touches the magnetic yoke. This design eliminates wear and provides friction free motion and eliminates the use of the magnetic residual flux interrupter as well as fixing the armature in the vertical direction to prevent bouncing while providing a return moment of torque to the armature to restore it to the original position.
