A previously announced IBM product, the Host Displaywriter Document Interchange (HDDI) allows a principal to use a terminal to draft a document and then send the draft to a secretary. This allows the secretary to use a Displaywriter to turn the draft into a final document. Bulleted items, such as the following, are common constituents of drafts prepared by a principal. The following is an example. * This is the first of several sample bulleted items. * This is the text of a second bulleted item. Each has a bullet, such as an asterisk, indented from the left margin; then the first line of text is indented still farther. Text is adjusted and justified. Subsequent lines of text are indented the same amount as the first line. * This is a third sample bulleted item.
