Abstract

The arrangement features a rotary vacuum manifold which supplies vacuum and air to five paddle assemblies. The paddle assemblies are holding devices for 8" discs that are transported around the test complex. The automatic Rotary Test Complex design simplifies disc handling as well as reducing floor space and increasing tester output. The drawing shows the following components and techniques used to fabricate the rotary manifold and the paddle assembly: A. Solenoid-operated vacuum air valves, five required. B. Fixed cover manifold plate with five valves attached. C. Ball bearings, two required. D. Upper and lower rotor drive plates and bearing retainers. E. Rotor locating and drive pin. F.
