Abstract

Modules are sequentially fed from an upper input tray through a module plugging station generally shown as 2 in the figure, where the module is sequentially plugged into a module socket. When the module is tested at the module testing station 2, the tester will output an indication as to whether the module is a good or a bad module. That signal will be sent to a path altering flipper 8. The flipper is an electro-mechanically actuated vane which will direct the module, by gravity, to either a first path 50 or, alternately, a second path 54. Four vertically oriented tubes 21, 22, 23 and 24 are located beneath the testing station 2. Modules which have been tested are sorted by means of two stages of flippers, the first stage being the flipper 8 and the second stage being additional two flippers 15 and 16.
