High Speed Clocked Video Interface

This video-type interface enables attachment of a monitoring device, such as a printer or TV monitor, to a CRT data display. The clocked video interface is generated by adapter logic that taps into signals existing in the base display without disturbing base machine input/output or refresh timing or hardware, and provides a continuous synchronous, clocked interface for external CRT monitoring attachment(s). For this purpose, the interface is adapted to capture existing non-standard video signals and synchronize and clock them into a usable high speed interconnection. Figs. 1 and 2 show the adapter logic and resulting interface timing. The signals applied at the left in Fig. 1 are from the display and those at the right are applied to the monitoring device.
