Abstract

This article describes equipment for testing the continuity, resistance and crosstalk of a coaxial cable in a way that reduces the time required for executing the tests and increasing the production rate. The coaxial cables used between the different frames of a computer or between the computer and the I/O devices must meet several criteria: the resistances of the signal line and the drain line must be within the specifications and each line must be correctly wired, that is, the signal line must not be substituted for the drain line. Continuity and resistance tests When switches KA, K001 and K002 are closed, a calibrated power supply feeds RS, the resistance of the signal line, through a resistance R1 with a given voltage U.
