A problem in the servicing of CRT display terminals, in particular those serially connected via a cabled-through twinaxial I/O interface, is that any displays downstream of a malfunctioning display goes offline when the twinaxial cables to the malfunctioning unit are disconnected to allow the display to be removed for service. This can create startup problems in downstream displays when the lines are reconnected. This problem is eliminated if the twinaxial connectors are located in a pluggable module that allows complete disconnection and reconnection of a malfunctioning display without breaking the serial connection between the twinaxial cables.
