Abstract

The vibratory spring untangler eliminates distortion of coil springs caused by the high speed rotary commercial untanglers. The apparatus consists of a vibratory bin 10 attached to an opening 12 that is found at the top of the helix feed track 14 in the feed hopper 16. Parts enter through opening 12 into the vibratory untangler bin 10. The bin 10 is rectangular in shape with a built-in 30Πangular baffle chute 18. Springs 20 are untangled while descending on vibrator chute 18. They are discharged at the base of the bin 10 into two separate discharge tracks 22 with the aid of a specially formed external baffle 24. Parts are now oriented end to end and move into a discharge location where they are picked and placed.
