Referring to Fig. 1, a forms guide 6 for a wire matrix printer 8 may be constructed of wire and comprises a guide surface and two side support legs. As shown in Fig. 2, the U-shaped legs 10 are retained in the cover 12 mounting pivot hinges 14. The hinges allow the guide to be lifted up from either side for loading continuous forms into the printer. This also provides an unobstructed loading path. The legs 10 also slide from front to rear into the hinges 14. This allows the guide drop-off point to be moved in and out to accommodate the multitude of forms-stacking variables, such as form length, temperature, humidity, stack and drop heights, sheet thickness and number of sheets. The guide is mounted independent of the forms feed assembly.
