When a personal computer is functioning as a display terminal attached to a larger administrative system, there is a need to transfer data between the larger host system and the personal computer acting as terminal, without requiring burdensome operations by the user. This is accomplished through the technique of performing automatic keystrokes. Software is available to enable certain personal microcomputers to function as display workstations within a larger-scale integrated administrative data processing/word processing system.
