A servomotor system maintains precise velocity control for multiple speeds where loading varies and also increases acceleration times. The changes in the bias voltage for the motor are utilized to reduce the acceleration time and to obtain accuracy quicker. A DC motor 1 drives a carrier 2 bidirectionally at selected speeds. The motor 1 is driven from an H-drive 3, which has a microprocessor controller 4 connected thereto to supply a desired voltage to a selected transistor of the H-drive 3 for a specific period of time to have a desired motor bias voltage, Emb, applied to the motor 1. If the velocity of the motor 1 decreases, this information is supplied to the microprocessor controller 4 from an encoder detector 5, which receives signals from an encoder wheel 6 on a shaft 7 of the motor 1.
