Abstract

Apparatus for displaying data processing information on a word processor terminal display has been becoming more extensively available in the field. The present apparatus relates to the interface between the data processing CPU and the word processor display terminal which has the capability of displaying data from the CPU. Logic for controlling this interface is shown in the general diagram. One of the problems which such an interface must guard against is that of data collisions. The interface must handle a high speed serial asynchronous data stream from the CPU, which was originally intended for a non-intelligent display normally used for data processing CPU data, and must make this data interfaceable with conventional intelligent microprocessor- based systems used in the word processor.
