or other supplies without moving to a remote location.
A shelf or hanger-type device 10 is suspended from the Z-motor support
collar 12, presenting tools, parts, or other useful items to the gripper during an
automated process. This storage shelf travels with the Z arm 14 in the X-Y plane,
always being handy to the gripper 16 and reached by raising the Z arm 14 and
directing the rotary joints to the proper positions on the shelf 18. This device 10
could be picked up at one end of the robot frame, used to perform a process,
then put back at a "docking station", and another different shelf picked up and
used in a different process.
