Fastener for Lamp Assembly
A fastener for easily attaching a circular lamp assembly to a microscope is
made by reforming a hole cap into a split ring with flexible tabs.
Referring to the figure, hole cap 1 with resilient tabs 2 has its top removed
leaving flange 3 and is severed at 4 to form a split ring. Nut 5 from the objective
lens portion of microscope 6 engages ring flange 3 securing the ring to the
microscope. Circular lamp assembly 7 can now be forced over flexible tabs 2 of
the ring and held adjacent the microscope objective lens.
