Special system turn-on and turn-off sequences are often required with electronic equipment to prevent exposure to possibly injurious voltage transients. Such sequencing can require elaborate and expensive control circuitry. A possible alternative to special control circuitry is the use of temporary artificial loading to prevent unacceptable voltage excursions.
