Abstract

A plasma display with integral transparent overlay graphic tablet/pen assembly includes artistic pen sketching with menu-selectable stroke shape (thickness and symmetry) , darkness (density), and polarity (positive equals painting; negative equals erasing). A fixed, repetitive, halftone density number pattern is associated with every screen addressable pel (picture element) by a table in which the two low-order address bits in X and Y for each pel determine the threshhold level for turning on that pel.
