In resent day machine tools, or in end-user product-type machines, many times the moving part of the machine must be connected to signal sending and/or receiving devices as well as remote sources of power and control devices. This requires cable. Because of the moving members, for example, the carrier of a printer or the like, the cable must be a flat multi-wire cable 10 to the chassis 11 of a machine, such as a printer (not shown). The cable clamp 12 also serves, by virtue of its geometry, as a strain relief. To this end, the clamp includes a pair of deflectable and depending snap portions 13 and 11 which are dimensioned for passing through the frame or support 11 and snapping into the underside thereof to hold the cable 10 in place, as will hereinafter be described.
