This device has been designed to integrate the total actuator assembly into a one-piece construction. Fig. 2 shows that the flexure and load beam are formed from the one base photo-etched part. Fig. 1 shows a new design of the flexure to improve the dynamic function. In the present design, when the motion subjects the flex members into compression, the flexure is subject to buckling. The proposed flexure members are tied on both ends, which eliminates this problem.
