In view of the relatively short shelf life of certain epoxy systems, there are applications where the resin and the hardener are mixed in a factory environment at the time the epoxy is being used. This is, for example, done with the epoxy that is used to fill holes which have been drilled in printed circuit boards to make circuit changes. It has been found that considerable advantages can be achieved by premixing the epoxy and then freezing it to prolong its shelf life. Using this technique, one not only prolongs the shelf life of the mixed epoxy, but one also eliminates the health hazards that are present when mixing components in a factory environment.
