Providing a query user with the ability to select segment or record occurrences based on a count of a related or dependent segment avoids shortcomings of both presence/absence testing and negatives. For example, improved general applicability is provided by a query requesting parts for which there exist two component segments, more than five order segments, no assembly segments, at least one component segment, a number of order segments based on a derived expression, etc.
