A plurality of monitor-independent operating systems are managed from a single monitor by providing menus to which programming languages are keyed. A need exists to be able to control complex screen sequences which are independent of the monitor being used. The solution is to provide an interpreter where all code is re-enterable and all data is maintained in a single dynamic storage area which is organized independently of the operating system but stored in a medium appropriate to each operating system.
