It is possible, with more recent types of electrolytic printers, to print using write electrode voltages on the order of 10 to 15 volts. The print heads for such devices can, therefore, be smaller and include various circuit chips as an integral portion of the heads. However, the design requirements of a print head that has an effective pel (printer elements per inch) of 240, dictates certain print head physical constraints, such as the present two-channel mechanical configuration, that affect the logic function required to print the requisite characters.
