Drivable Large VI Product Bubble Memory Coil

A bifilarly wound coil having twice the VI product of a single original coil is driven with two sets of original drivers. The VI product is proportional to both frequency and coil volume. A bifilar coil is one consisting of two interturned coils so that adjacent turns belong to two separate but magnetically coupled coils, each having two terminals. The use of a bifilar coil extends bubble memory performance in that it permits operating the bubble memory at twice the rotating field frequency or increasing the number of chips in the module.
