Abstract

This device electronically monitors the motion of a person for safety and security purposes. When a person enters a room, ceiling motion detector sensor 10 picks up his motion, closing contacts P4. Current then flows from one leg 16 of transformer 14 through contacts P2 and, closing contacts P6, thereby energizes buzzer 20 through center tap 22. This buzzer reminds the person entering to activate the safety system by pushing switch 12, thus opening contacts P2 and closing contacts P1. Now, so long as a person is moving, the detector 10 continuously senses this motion, holding contacts P4 closed. However, the buzzer does not sound because the original current path through contacts P2 has been opened by the pulsing of switch 12.
