Enhancement to System Control Program Nucleus Refreshment

Many System Control Program (SCP) "nucleus" pages are refreshable (i.e., "read-only"), and a copy of each such page is kept in a nucleus data set on secondary storage. In typical implementations, when a permanent main-storage failure prevents the SCP from referencing a location within a refreshable nucleus page, further SCP operations may proceed only after a system shut-down and a re-IPL (Initial Program Load). An enhancement to this process is described in the example below.
