Dual Stream Processor Operation
The arrangement shown and described allows operation of either one or a
pair of dual-stream processors to act solely as a Uniprocessor (UP) with limited
failures of the primary processor.
One such system comprises a dual-stream processor with the main memory
controls on the A-side (Shared Memory). The A-side can operate as a UP
system with or without a B-processor attached, but the B-side must have the A-
side attached and operating for B-side operation.
The two sides operate identically except for the memory and controls. To
allow debugging of the B-side as a Uniprocessor with limited or no failures on the
A-side, the A-side must respond to all A-Cache memory search requests and
allow BSM (Basic Storage Module) operations (In Page, Out Page) to continue.
