The circuit illustrated in Fig. 1 is a push-pull Darlington driver type which is designed to control rising and falling output voltage transitions. DV/Dt control is accomplished by limiting the effective forward beta of the transistors (12 and 13) used to provide drive current to the output transistors T4 and T5. The betas of transistors T2 and T3 are limited via simple base-emitter clamps (diodes D2 and D3).
