In a jet ink solution, pentasodium aminotri (methylene phosphonic acid) (NA5-ATMP), can be twice as effective as tetrasodium ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (NA4-EDTA) in the prevention of insoluble metal silicate deposits such as may occur around the nozzle of an ink jet printer.
