Detecting Printer Feedback Switch Transitions

The transitions of printer feedback switches are sensed with immunity t electrical noise and with short response times by delaying the sampling of a switch state for a predetermined time after initiation of an event to be detected by the switch state and thereafter polling the switch to sense a detection of the event. The polling includes attempting to sense X out of Y samples in the desired switch state.
