Abstract

The present system permits the accessing of data processing equipment by service engineers or others for the purpose of finding and correcting errors or deficiencies in the equipment. In the present system the service engineer who accesses the equipment will get consistent results irrespective of the status of the equipment when it is accessed. For example, assuming a condition as shown in Fig. 1, the system controlled by the work scheduler will select the highest priority job module from a plurality of job modules (shown as job 1, job 2 and job 3) for scheduling purposes. The output which the service engineer will get from the equipment will be consistent irrespective of the state at which the equipment is in any given sequence of scheduled jobs.
