The disclosed tri-state circuit drives a sense amplifier which is used for reading and writing a Harper cell array matrix. Application requires that in the read mode both SARL and SARR outputs are equal, with a value which closely matches a selected cell's midway voltage. In the write mode, both outputs are complements of each other depending upon the state of the data input. Therefore, both outputs have tri-state capabilities.
