Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Controlled Corona for Electrophotography
A corona is illustrated which is substantially surrounded, having a narrow
aperture outlet for the generated ions with control electrodes at the outlet.
The corona is especially useful for various-sized documents, by charging or
transferring only in the desired areas. The corona includes a corona wire 10
substantially surrounded by a housing 11. A source 12 provides the corona
voltage, and the housing 11 may be pressurized. An aperture 14 is provided in
the corona housing, and electrodes 15 are provided on at least one side. If
various-sized sheets are to be handled, additional electrodes 16 and 17 may be
provided and each electrode may be separately controlled by controls 19-20.
Thus, control 18 may be off, while controls 19 and/or 20 may be on to inhibit
emission thereat and prevent charging or transfer (depending on use of the
corona) in undesired areas outside the area to be covered by the copy sheet.
