Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Transparency Misfeeds in a Copier
A flashing error message alerts an operator to check for hard to see
transparencies when clearing copier jams. The copier will not restart if the
operator fails to follow preset jam-clearance procedures.
The opaque stripe on the leading edge of some transparencies usually
comes to rest beyond the sensor, following a detach or paper-on-drum failure.
Therefore, unlike a sheet of paper, the transparency is no longer detected once
the machine stops. Since a transparency is difficult to see when it is on the
drum"s surface, it can easily be overlooked by an operator during jam clearance.
It is possible then for the operator to clear the error condition and restart the
machine without removing the transparency. Here, copier logic distinguishes if
the failure is caused by a sheet of paper or a transparency, and provides an error
In the flow diagram, after the copier stops due to a detach
failure or paper-on-drum (POD) error condition, the paper-on-drum
input is checked when the front door is initially opened. If the
paper-on-drum sensor is still active, a sheet of paper is on the drum
surface. The "Check Paper Path" message remains on until the sheet
is removed and the reset button is depressed. However, if a sheet is
not sensed, the misfed sheet is then determined to be a transparency.
The "Check Paper Path" console message, which is ordinarily on
solid, flashes to alert the operator that a potentially serious
