Abstract

The tablet pens of this presentation facilitate the description of area and colors mixed in areas and approximate the paint brushes used by artists. :AB Usually an area is outlined to describe it to a computer. Change in color of an area is presently described as some interpolation over the area. Variable coloring of an area, such as is done by artists with brushes and paint, is not easily done with the usual tablets or light pens. The character of paint brushes would be useful for: retouching scanned and digitized pictures, designing patterns for clothing fabric, blending colors for a picture that does not have hard edges, simulating air brush area fill, calligraphy, and experimental color mixing.
