Abstract

A technique to convert an X-Y recorder into a polar chart recorder is described in the present article. Polar chart recorders are used in semiconductor processing to monitor ambient temperature and humidity. The ease of chart visibility provided by polar chart recorders can be retained and the data can be collected by a computer if the data is displayed on an X-Y recorder in polar form. X-Y recorders with a computer interface are commercially available, whereas polar chart recorders are usually stand-alone instruments with no computer interface.
