Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Staging And Control Apparatus
Machine components are presented to a work station, and incrementally
rotated and linearly translated at the work station.
For welding a cylindrical stack of laminae together, a number of peripheral
welds extending in the axial direction are required. If the staging apparatus is a
turntable, each stack is presented to the work station for welding along a circular
path. Once the stack has been located at the work station, it must be
incrementally rotated to a weld position, and then linearly translated for welding.
In Fig. 1 there is illustrated a turntable 1 having one control fixture positioned
at an operator station 2 and another control fixture positioned at a work station 3.
Each control fixture includes a fishingreel-type leadscrew 4, a drive motor 5, a
face chuck 6, a mounting chuck 7, and an incrementing controller 8. Leadscrew 4
is rotatably journalled in a mount 9 which is secured to turntable 1. Mountable
between chucks 6 and 7 by an operator at station 2 is a stack 10 which is to be
peripherally welded in the axial direction by laser beam 11. Positioned between
stations 2 and 3 is a safety shield 12.
Chuck 6 has a spiral array of pins 13, as shown in Fig. 2, and is connected to
a rotatable shaft 14. Connected to shaft 14 is a follower 15 which is connected
to leadscrew 4.
Controller 8 is located along shaft 14 and to the left of
follower 15. The details of controller 8 are shown in the front and
side views of Figs. 3 and 4...
