This search box also supports the look-up of an IP.com Digital Signature (also referred to as Fingerprint); enter the 72-, 48-, or 32-character code to retrieve details of the associated file or submission.
Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Pneumatic Band Sensor
On high speed band printers, it is essential to assure that the moving type
band 10 is neither too high nor too low relative to the print hammers.
A pneumatic sensor 11 has upper and lower sensing ports 12 and
13 connected to air supply port 14. In the desired nominal
position, band 10 blocks upper sensing ports 12 so that air is cut
off to diaphragm switch 1 on circuit card 15. With lower sensing
ports 13 open, diaphragm switch 2 on the other side of card 15 is
closed by air pressure from supply port 14. No change is made in
position of band 10. Should band 10 move up, switches 1 and 2 are
both closed thereby activating a servo (not shown) to lower the band.
If bend 10 is too low, sensing ports 12 and 13 are both-closed.
switches 1 and 2 are both open, and the servo is again activated to
raise the moving band 10.
A pneumatic sensor has advantages for use with a band printer because
pressured air keeps dust or dirt produced from the printing process from affecting
