In using a magnetoresistive (MR) element in a magnetic hand scanner, it is desirable to be able to rotate the MR element with respect to the direction of coding on the media. When this is done with present designs, there is a substantial difference in output voltage depending on whether the MR head is at 0 degree or 90 degree to the flux transitions.
