A metal, e.g. aluminum, cover 1 having a downwardly projecting edge portion 2 is located over a base casting 3 by means of three locating projections 4 (only one shown) angularly spaced around the periphery of the casting (Fig. 1). Cover 1 is forced downwardly to compress an elastomeric seal 5 until it locates vertically against three angularly spaced stops 6 (only one shown). The cover is held in this position in a fixed rig and the edge portion 2 is rolled or crimped around the underside of the base casting to form a sealed enclosure, as shown in Fig. 2.
