Electronic Slip Compensation for Wire Rope Drives of Printer Carriages

In the case of stepper motor-controlled printer carriages, which are driven by means of a wire rope in line direction, a slip occurs particularly as a result of the starting and the braking phase. If a coding disk fixed to the axle of the stepper motor is used to trigger the print-out pulse, this slip leads to a particular point on the wire rope becoming displaced with respect to a particular point on the coding disk.
