Discrete Magnetic Tracks in Storage Disks

A process employing electrostatic and magnetic field interactions of charged magnetic particles with a thin active layer can be used to establish discrete magnetic tracks on a recording disk. The active layer may be a polymer film which develops a surface charge upon contact with an aqueous dispersion. Charged magnetic particles will deposit only if the active layer charge is of opposite polarity.
