The present structure provides a magnetically self-centering toggle lever. The operational lever 10 pivots about the axis of a stud 12 to which the lever is attached. A semicircular configuration is located below the pivot axis of the lever. Onto this semicircular configuration is attached a layer of material 13 capable of acquiring and retaining a magnetic field. Directly beneath the semicircular configuration is a second magnetic field supplied by a layer of similar material 14. The air gap 15 between these facing fields in relation to the mass of the magnets would provide a selected force. The arrangement of magnet polarity achieves the following results: a) The lever will remain at the center position provided by facing magnets having attracting polarity about the stud axis.
