Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Impact Printer Missile with Minimal Rebound
In impact printers, particularly impact printers utilizing missiles with free
flight, it is desirable to minimize missile rebound.
The present structure provides a missile with minimal rebound. The structure
comprises a hollow hammer missile, the core of which is filled with balls which
are substantially fixed in position because they completely fill up the hollow core
of the missile. An embodiment of the structure is shown in the figure. Hammer
missile 12 comprising a plurality of steel balls 10 is propelled by solenoid coil 13
against an impact point 14. When impact occurs, additional forward forces are
exerted by the balls 1-7 themselves. The size and number of balls as well as
their modulus of compression will determine this additional force. For such an
arrangement, on impact, steel balls 1-3 will continue in a motion compressing the
softer balls 4-7 to result in a longer contact time between plunger 12 and impact
Rebound force can be absorbed by reversing the scheme of balls (5, 6 and 7
steel, 4, 3, 2 and 1 a softer material.)
If both characteristics are desired, balls 3, 4 and 5 should be steel with softer
balls on either side of the steel balls. This gives a collapse effect in either
