Abstract

We have found that the use of a print hammer in an impact printer which is formed of welded lamination produces a marked reduction in power consumption and more efficient operation at higher speeds in the impact printer. While laminated stators in impact printers are part of present technology, printers having their armature or hammer also laminated have been virtually unknown in the impact printer field.
